Featured album: From Fresh Water

After exploring the Maritimes and the West, Stan decided it was time to write about his home province of Ontario. From Fresh Water captures some of the history and contemporary observations of the Great Lakes Region. Tracks include White Squall, the NHL-inspired Flying, The Nancy and stirring ballad The Lockkeeper.

Featured song: Field Behind the Plow

Considered by many as the definitive Canadian farming song, the story goes that Stan was inspired to write it after witnessing the sight of a farmer while driving through Saskatchewan in the early morning hours. It appears on the Northwest Passage album.
