I'm a musician and want to record one of Stan's songs. Do I need permission?

You bet! The songs aren't public domain, so please contact Fogarty's Cove Music for Mechanical/Synchronization Licenses.

I hear there's a Stan Rogers Folk Festival. Where is it?

It's in Canso, Nova Scotia, the first weekend in July. Visit their web site.

When was Fogarty's Cove Music established?

In 1976, surrounding the production of Stan's second album, Turnaround. The original graphic was designed by Garnet.

When and how did Stan die?

Stan died in an airplane fire on June 2, 1983. He was one of 23 people who did not survive the fire. Their deaths began the inquiry which led to the massive changes in requirements for improved airline safety - especially the removal of deadly combustible materials used in airplane construction.

Where is Stan buried?

Stan was cremated and his ashes were scattered in the Atlantic Ocean off the northeastern shore of Nova Scotia.

Was Stan from Nova Scotia?

Stan was born in Hamilton, Ontario and grew up in the area. Both of his parents, Valerie Bushell and Al Rogers hail from Nova Scotia. The northeastern shore of Nova Scotia was a lifelong favourite holiday haunt.

Who were Stan's biggest influences?

There were many, most notably Joni Mitchell and Gordon Lightfoot, not to mention many of Stan's contemporaries - David Essig, Archie Fisher, The Friends of Fiddler's Green to name a few. Read more in the official biography by Chris Gudgeon.

Will there be another Stan album released?

From Coffee House to Concert Hall is probably the final release of Stan's recorded work.

'Songs From Fogarty's Cove' has the music for the first four albums. Where do I get the music for the remaining songs?

We are working on another song book to cover the rest of the albums.

Where can I get a published book on Stan?

Where are the people who played with Stan now?

Garnet continues to perform as a solo artist throughout North America. Other band members & frequent co-performers such as David Woodhead, David Alan Eadie and Jim Morison have all continued to remain involved in the music scene. Grit Laskin continues his work on stage and in the guitar shop, as well as appearing on the Borealis label. Paul Mills, now runs his own production company, Millstream, in Toronto.
